Klas Rock Hump is a rocky pinnacle rising from the outer exposed waters off Edmonds, Washington, in DFO subarea 9, with fishable structure between 200 and 255 feet. The pinnacle holds lingcod, which peak from February through April and respond to jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, or leadhead jigs, and Pacific halibut, most active March through June on drift jigging with leadhead jigs and plastic swimbaits or on bottom bait fishing with whole herring and squid. Canary rockfish, darkblotched rockfish, and Pacific ocean perch also work the rock, drawn to the vertical relief and hard bottom. Chinook salmon move through from June to August and coho from June to October, both taken by trolling flashers with hootchies, spoons, or cut-plug herring above the structure. Working baits close to the rock at depth targets the resident lingcod and halibut, while the salmon runs favor troll passes higher in the water column.
