Middle Bank is a mid-exposure flat over mixed bottom near Friday Harbor, Washington, dropping through depths of 120 to 240 feet. Lingcod hold on the structure here with peaks from December through February and again from May through August, while Pacific Halibut move through from April to July and Rockfish stack up March through September. Chinook Salmon run June through August and Coho follow from June into September, both worked effectively by trolling whole herring, flashers, and trolling spoons across the bank. Anglers targeting lingcod and rockfish drop metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and swimbaits to the bottom along the mixed terrain, while drift jigging with leadheads and metal jigs covers the depth range for halibut. The spread of depths and bottom types across this flat supports both jigging into structure and trolling the water column above it.
