Salmon Bank is a sand flat off Friday Harbor, Washington, sitting at mid exposure over depths of 60 to 120 feet. The bank holds Lingcod, which peak from December through February and again from May through August, alongside Pacific Halibut in April through July and a strong salmon run that brings Chinook in June through August and Coho from June into September. Rockfish work the flat from March through September, with Pink Salmon adding to the summer mix. Anglers jig metal or leadhead jigs across the sand for Lingcod and Rockfish, while drift jigging with leadhead jigs and swimbaits covers the same depths for Halibut. Trolling whole herring, flashers, and trolling spoons through the water column takes Chinook and Coho as they move over the bank.
