Turn Rock is an outer-exposed rocky corridor near Friday Harbor, Washington, where current funnels over structure across depths from 20 to 120 feet. Chinook salmon move through this passage from June to August, with rockfish holding on the rock through a long window that runs March to September and Dungeness crab peaking July to September. Anglers target Chinook by trolling whole herring, flashers, and trolling spoons through the corridor, switching to mooching cut-plug herring or jigging metal jigs when fish stack up on the tide. The same rock structure holds rockfish, which respond to metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and swimbaits worked close to the bottom, with herring or squid on bait rigs as a supporting approach. Crab pots baited with fish carcasses, chicken, or clams work the corridor's edges through the summer season.
