Command Point is a rocky drop-off in DFO subarea 11 off Gig Harbor, Washington, where the bottom falls from 260 to 660 feet across mid-exposure water. Chinook Salmon peak from June through September and Coho Salmon from July through October, both worked most effectively by trolling flashers with hoochies, trolling spoons, or cut-plug herring along the edge of the structure. Lingcod hold on the rock through their February-to-April peak and respond to jigging metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs, while Pacific Halibut move through from March into July over the deeper contours. Drift jigging with leadhead jigs, metal jigs, herring, or salmon belly covers the halibut ground, and the same rock supports year-round Black Rockfish taken on metal jigs and leadhead jigs dressed with plastic swimbaits. The steep transition from mid to deep water concentrates fish along the drop, rewarding anglers who track their gear against the changing depth.
