STRUCTURE
Drop Off
Outer Exposed

Sunshine Point is an outer-exposed rocky drop-off off Ilwaco, Washington, where the bottom falls away through depths of 260 to 660 feet. The structure holds Pacific Halibut through their March-to-August peak, with Lingcod concentrating in January and February and Black Rockfish stacking up from April into August. Anglers work drift fishing with herring, salmon bellies, squid, or octopus for halibut over the deeper contours, while jigging metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and swimbaits accounts for lingcod and rockfish along the rock. Chinook Salmon move through in April and again from June into September, with Coho joining the run through summer, both taken by trolling whole or cut-plug herring, flashers, and hoochies. Greenlings, Pacific Cod, and Blue Rockfish round out the mix over this exposed structure.
