I’ve been using ReelCaster for about a month and I love it! Having all the conditions listed together is really handy and makes deciding when to go a no brainer instead of checking multiple apps and sites to get wind, current, sea conditions and tides. I highly recommend ReelCaster!

ReelCaster has completely changed how I plan my fishing trips. It brings together tides, currents, wind, swell, and water temperature in one place, then pinpoints the best times and locations to fish. It saves me time and gives me real confidence I’m on the water when conditions are ideal.

ReelCaster was very helpful in helping me figure out where and when to fish! I was lucky enough to catch a 7 lb Coho right off the beach. The info that the app provided was really helpful and it saved me the trouble of looking at multiple sources to figure out tides, weather, and regulations.

STRUCTURE
Pinnacle
Inner Protected

Hix Bay Hump is a rocky pinnacle in the inner protected waters off Oak Harbor, Washington, within Marine Area 7, rising through depths of 10 to 45 feet. The structure holds Pacific Halibut, which peak from March through June, and Lingcod, most active February through March, alongside a resident mix of Sablefish, Darkblotched Rockfish, Yellowmouth Rockfish, and Pacific Cod. Chinook and Coho Salmon move through from June to September, both taken by trolling flashers, hoochies, trolling spoons, or cut plug herring, with mooching whole or cut plug herring as an alternative. Anglers working the pinnacle for Halibut lean on drift jigging with leadhead jigs, metal jigs, and soft plastic swimbaits over the rock, while Lingcod respond to jigging metal jigs and leadhead jigs with swimbaits along the same structure. The shallow rock and tidal flow through this protected water concentrate fish tight to the hump, rewarding presentations kept close to the bottom.
