Undertakers Reef is a mixed-bottom flat off Oak Harbor, Washington, sitting in 15 to 40 feet of water with mid-level exposure in Marine Area 7. The reef holds lingcod, which peak from February through March, alongside black rockfish that stay active from February into September and supporting numbers of blue and China rockfish. Anglers work the structure with metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and swimbaits for both lingcod and rockfish, while live greenling and herring serve as supporting baits when lingcod hold tight to the bottom. Pacific halibut move through from March to June and respond to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and soft plastic swimbaits over the mixed substrate. Chinook and coho salmon fill the summer window from June through September, taken by trolling flashers, spoons, and cut plug herring across the flat.
