Freshwater Bay sits on the outer-exposed coast west of Port Angeles, Washington, where a mixed-bottom drop-off falls from roughly 40 to 200 feet. The structure holds Lingcod, which peak from January through April, and Rockfish (Aggregate), which stay available across the year. Chinook Salmon move through from June to August, followed by Coho Salmon that peak June through September, and Dungeness Crab round out the target list. Anglers work the drop-off for Lingcod by jigging metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs, or bait fishing with live greenling, herring, and squid along the deeper edges. Salmon are taken by trolling whole herring, flashers, and trolling spoons through the water column, while mooching cut-plug herring works the same tide-driven lines over the exposed depths.
