I’ve been using ReelCaster for about a month and I love it! Having all the conditions listed together is really handy and makes deciding when to go a no brainer instead of checking multiple apps and sites to get wind, current, sea conditions and tides. I highly recommend ReelCaster!

ReelCaster has completely changed how I plan my fishing trips. It brings together tides, currents, wind, swell, and water temperature in one place, then pinpoints the best times and locations to fish. It saves me time and gives me real confidence I’m on the water when conditions are ideal.

ReelCaster was very helpful in helping me figure out where and when to fish! I was lucky enough to catch a 7 lb Coho right off the beach. The info that the app provided was really helpful and it saved me the trouble of looking at multiple sources to figure out tides, weather, and regulations.

STRUCTURE
Drop Off
Mid

Contractors Point is a rocky drop-off in DFO subarea 6 off Port Townsend, Washington, where the bottom falls from about 260 to 660 feet at mid-exposure. Chinook Salmon move through from June to August and Coho Salmon from June to September, while Pacific Halibut hold on the deeper structure from March to July and Lingcod stack up along the rock from March to May. Anglers work Chinook with cut-plug or whole herring on the mooching drift, and switch to trolling flashers, spoons, and hoochies for Coho along the same edge. Over the deeper contours, drift jigging metal or leadhead jigs with swimbaits takes Halibut, and jigging metal jigs and swimbaits close to the rock produces Lingcod. The steep transition also holds Pacific Cod, Sablefish, Rockfish, English Sole, and Broadnose Sevengill Shark across the depth range.
