Kalset Point is a rocky drop-off in DFO subarea 6 off Port Townsend, Washington, where the bottom falls from about 260 to 660 feet at a mid-exposure location. Chinook Salmon peak from June through August and Coho Salmon from June through September, making the point a summer salmon fishery. Chinook respond to mooching cut-plug or whole herring along the drop, while Coho are worked by trolling flashers, hoochies, and trolling spoons over the same structure. Lingcod hold on the rock through their March–May peak and take metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs, and Black Rockfish from May through August come to jigging with metal jigs and leadhead jigs. Pacific Halibut peaks March through July over the deeper contours and is targeted by drift jigging metal jigs and leadhead jigs with swimbaits.
