I’ve been using ReelCaster for about a month and I love it! Having all the conditions listed together is really handy and makes deciding when to go a no brainer instead of checking multiple apps and sites to get wind, current, sea conditions and tides. I highly recommend ReelCaster!

ReelCaster has completely changed how I plan my fishing trips. It brings together tides, currents, wind, swell, and water temperature in one place, then pinpoints the best times and locations to fish. It saves me time and gives me real confidence I’m on the water when conditions are ideal.

ReelCaster was very helpful in helping me figure out where and when to fish! I was lucky enough to catch a 7 lb Coho right off the beach. The info that the app provided was really helpful and it saved me the trouble of looking at multiple sources to figure out tides, weather, and regulations.

STRUCTURE

Mid

Diamond Point is a rocky drop-off in DFO subarea 6 off Port Townsend, Washington, where the bottom falls away through mid-exposure water from roughly 260 to 660 feet. The structure holds Chinook Salmon and Coho Salmon through summer, with Chinook peaking June through August and Coho running June into September, while Pacific Halibut turn on from March through July and Lingcod concentrate March through May. Anglers work the deeper contours over the rock with metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and herring for halibut, and jig swimbaits and metal jigs along the same structure for Lingcod and Black Rockfish, the latter strongest May through August. For Chinook, mooching cut-plug or whole herring along the drop-off is the dominant approach, with trolling flashers, spoons, or hoochies covering more water when the salmon are moving. Coho respond best to trolling the same spreads through the upper column, and the site also produces Quillback and Canary Rockfish over the rock.
