I’ve been using ReelCaster for about a month and I love it! Having all the conditions listed together is really handy and makes deciding when to go a no brainer instead of checking multiple apps and sites to get wind, current, sea conditions and tides. I highly recommend ReelCaster!

ReelCaster has completely changed how I plan my fishing trips. It brings together tides, currents, wind, swell, and water temperature in one place, then pinpoints the best times and locations to fish. It saves me time and gives me real confidence I’m on the water when conditions are ideal.

ReelCaster was very helpful in helping me figure out where and when to fish! I was lucky enough to catch a 7 lb Coho right off the beach. The info that the app provided was really helpful and it saved me the trouble of looking at multiple sources to figure out tides, weather, and regulations.

STRUCTURE

Mid

Walan Point is a rocky drop-off near Port Townsend, Washington, in DFO subarea 9, where the bottom falls away through mid-exposure water from roughly 260 to 660 feet. Chinook Salmon peak from June through August and Coho Salmon from June through September, with Chinook worked by mooching cut-plug or whole herring and Coho by trolling flashers, hoochies, and trolling spoons across the ledge. The rocky structure holds Lingcod, best in March through May and taken by jigging metal jigs, swimbaits, or leadhead jigs, while Pacific Halibut move through the deeper water from March into July and respond to drift jigging with metal jigs or herring. Black Rockfish and Copper Rockfish stack over the same rock through the summer months, both reliably caught by jigging leadhead jigs and swimbaits along the face of the drop. The steep contour and hard bottom concentrate fish across a wide depth band, making it a spot that rewards adjusting technique to the target species.
