Elwood Point is a mid-exposure drop-off in DFO subarea 10 off Seattle, Washington, where a mixed bottom falls through depths of 260 to 660 feet. Chinook Salmon peak here from July through September and Coho Salmon run from June into October, with trolling cut-plug herring, whole herring, flashers with hoochies, and trolling spoons the dominant approach along the break. Lingcod hold on the structure with a January peak and a longer window from February through April, taken by jigging metal jigs, leadhead jigs with swimbaits, and bucktail jigs. Pacific Halibut work the deeper mixed bottom from March through August, where drift jigging metal jigs and leadhead jigs with plastic covers the steep contour. Black Rockfish stay active across most of the year, responding to jigging with metal jigs, leadhead jigs, swimbaits, and soft plastics worked over the drop.
