I’ve been using ReelCaster for about a month and I love it! Having all the conditions listed together is really handy and makes deciding when to go a no brainer instead of checking multiple apps and sites to get wind, current, sea conditions and tides. I highly recommend ReelCaster!

ReelCaster has completely changed how I plan my fishing trips. It brings together tides, currents, wind, swell, and water temperature in one place, then pinpoints the best times and locations to fish. It saves me time and gives me real confidence I’m on the water when conditions are ideal.

ReelCaster was very helpful in helping me figure out where and when to fish! I was lucky enough to catch a 7 lb Coho right off the beach. The info that the app provided was really helpful and it saved me the trouble of looking at multiple sources to figure out tides, weather, and regulations.

STRUCTURE
Drop Off
Inner Protected

Erlands Point is an inner protected drop-off in Seattle's Puget Sound waters, part of DFO subarea 10, where a mixed bottom falls away through depths of 20 to 200 feet. The structure holds Chinook Salmon at their peak from July through September and Coho Salmon across a long window from June into October, while Pacific Halibut move through from March to August. Anglers working the drop-off troll cut-plug herring, whole herring, and flashers with hoochies for Chinook and Coho, and switch to mooching or metal jigs when fish sit deeper along the slope. The deeper mixed bottom supports Lingcod, which peak from February through April and take metal jigs, leadhead jigs with swimbaits, and live greenling, alongside Black Rockfish that hold near structure through most of the year. Drift jigging with metal jigs or leadhead jigs tipped with plastic covers the halibut ground when the tide keeps a working drift over the contour.
