Rocky Point is a rocky drop-off in Seattle's Puget Sound waters within DFO subarea 10, where the bottom falls from roughly 160 to 480 feet at mid-level exposure. The structure holds Chinook Salmon at their peak from July through September and Coho Salmon from June into October, both taken by trolling flashers with hoochies, trolling spoons, or cut-plug herring, with mooching as a supporting approach. Lingcod work the rock through winter and early spring, peaking in January and again February through April, and respond to jigging with metal jigs, leadhead jigs with swimbaits, or bucktail jigs. Pacific Halibut move over the deeper edges from March through August, targeted with drift jigging using metal jigs or leadhead jigs tipped with plastic. Black Rockfish stay active across most of the year along the same rocky slope, holding to metal jigs, swimbaits, and soft plastics fished close to the structure.
