Bamfield Inlet / Mouth is a mixed-bottom drop-off along the Bamfield shoreline of British Columbia, holding depths from 20 to 120 feet at moderate exposure. Pacific Halibut work the deeper edges from March through August, while Chinook Salmon peak May through August and Coho Salmon run May into September. Rockfish hold along the structure from May through September, taking metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and soft plastic swimbaits worked close to the bottom. Halibut respond to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and soft plastics over the drop, and salmon come to trolling with anchovy, herring, flashers, and hootchies through the mid-depth water. The transition between the inlet and open water concentrates fish where the bottom changes and current moves bait across the slope.
