Whittlestone Point sits on the outer, exposed coast near Bamfield, British Columbia, a mixed-bottom bay where depths run from 15 to 80 feet. The spot holds Chinook Salmon through their peak from May to August and Coho Salmon from May into September, drawing fish over its varied structure. Trolling anchovy, herring, flashers, or hootchies works the water column across the bay's depth range and remains the dominant approach for both species. For Chinook, mooching whole or cut-plug herring covers the shallower structure, while jigging metal jigs reaches fish holding deeper. Coho respond to trolling spoons and cut-plug herring, with bucktailing and drift jigging as supporting tactics along the exposed edges.
