Hump 1.3 km NE of Shelter Point is an outer-exposed rocky pinnacle off Campbell River, rising through 90 to 140 feet of water. The structure holds Lingcod, which peak from May to June and again from August to September, alongside Pacific Halibut through the extended April to September window and a mix of rockfish including Canary Rockfish. Chinook Salmon move through the area from June to August, with Coho Salmon running May to September. Anglers work the rock with metal jigs, leadhead jigs and swimbaits for Lingcod, dropping drift jigs and swimbaits to the bottom for Halibut. Salmon are taken by trolling spoons, herring and hootchies across the pinnacle, with mooching and jigging as alternatives when fish stack over the high ground.
