Hump 0.6 km W of Wilby Shoals is a rocky pinnacle rising in outer, exposed water off Campbell River, British Columbia, with fishable structure sitting in roughly 25 to 40 feet. The high rock holds lingcod, which peak in May and June and again from August to September, alongside black rockfish through the May-to-September stretch and a mix of blue, china, and copper rockfish across the same period. Anglers work the pinnacle by jigging metal jigs and leadhead jigs with swimbaits over the rock, and bait fishing with whole herring, live greenling, or octopus draws lingcod holding tight to the structure. The exposed position and shallow rock also bring salmon within reach, with Chinook peaking June through August and Coho running May through September, both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, or hootchies over and around the hump. Pacific halibut move through the area from April to September and hold along the deeper edges where drift jigging with leadhead jigs and swimbaits reaches bottom.
