Hump 1.6 km N of Wilby Shoals is an outer-exposed rock pinnacle off Campbell River, rising through a depth range of 35 to 270 feet. The structure holds Pacific Halibut from April through September and Lingcod through their May–June and August–September peaks, alongside resident Pacific Ocean Perch, China Rockfish, and Copper Rockfish. Anglers work the deeper flanks with drift jigging using leadhead jigs, swimbaits, and metal jigs for halibut, and target lingcod over the rock with metal jigs, leadhead jigs with swimbaits, or bait such as whole herring and live greenling. Chinook Salmon move through from June to August and Coho from May to September, taken by trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, and hootchies across the pinnacle's edges. The exposed position and steep rock relief concentrate fish along the current-swept structure, making depth control central to fishing it well.
