STRUCTURE
Pinnacle
Outer Exposed

Exeter Shoal is an outer-exposed rock pinnacle off Comox, British Columbia, rising through water that runs 60 to 180 feet deep. The structure holds Pacific Halibut through their March to July peak and Lingcod across two windows, January to March and May to September, alongside Bank Rockfish, Canary Rockfish, and Pacific Cod. Anglers work the rock with drift jigging for halibut using leadhead jigs, swimbaits, and metal jigs, or drop bottom baits like whole herring, salmon bellies, and octopus over the deeper edges. Lingcod respond to jigging with metal jigs and swimbaits tight to the pinnacle, or bait fishing with live greenling and squid. Chinook Salmon move through from June to August and Coho from May to September, both taken by trolling spoons, hootchies, and bait teasers with anchovy across the exposed shoal.
