Hump 0.5 km W of Favada Point is an outer-exposed rock pinnacle off Comox, British Columbia, rising through water that runs from roughly 60 to 235 feet. The structure holds Lingcod, which peak from January through March and again from May through September, alongside Pacific Halibut that come on strongest from March through July. Rockfish including Rougheye, Darkblotched, and Canary share the rock with Pacific Cod and Sablefish, while Chinook Salmon move through in numbers from June to August. Lingcod respond to jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs worked over the pinnacle, or to bait fishing with whole herring, live greenling, or squid. For halibut, drift jigging along the deeper flanks and bottom bait fishing with whole herring or salmon bellies cover the range, and Chinook are taken by trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, or hootchies over the same ground.
