Hump 1.3 km W of Maple Bay is a rocky pinnacle off Comox, British Columbia, rising through mid-exposure water where depths run from 60 to 235 feet. The structure holds Pacific Halibut, which peak from March through July, alongside Lingcod that fish well from January to March and again from May to September, plus Pacific Cod, Canary Rockfish, and Copper Rockfish across the rock. Chinook Salmon move through from June to August and Coho from May to September, worked over the pinnacle by trolling anchovy, herring, trolling spoons, or hootchies. Halibut respond to drift jigging with leadhead jigs, swimbaits, and metal jigs across the deeper flanks, while bottom bait fishing with whole herring, salmon bellies, octopus, or squid covers the same ground. Lingcod hold tight to the rock, where jigging with metal jigs and swimbaits draws fish off the high points.
