About Rebecca Rock

Rebecca Rock is an outer-exposed rocky drop-off in DFO subarea 14-13 off Comox, British Columbia, where the bottom falls steeply through depths of 260 to 660 feet. Chinook Salmon hold here through their June to August peak, while Coho Salmon run from May into September, and both respond to trolling with anchovy, herring, trolling spoons, and hootchies across the structure. Lingcod stack along the rock in two windows, January to March and May to September, and come to metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs worked down the face of the drop-off. Black Rockfish concentrate near the harder structure from June through August and take metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and soft plastic swimbaits. The steep transition from shallow rock to deep water lets anglers cover several species by adjusting how far down they present jigs and trolled gear along the edge.
