Distances are in a straight line, not by water.

Maple Bay Hump is a rocky pinnacle rising from the outer, exposed waters off Comox, British Columbia, with depths running from 60 to 235 feet. The structure holds lingcod, which peak from January through March and again from May through September, alongside Pacific halibut through the March-to-July window and Chinook and coho salmon over the summer months. Anglers work the pinnacle for lingcod with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs, dropping to the rock along the deeper edges. Halibut come to drift jigging over the same terrain, with leadhead jigs and swimbaits worked near bottom or whole herring and octopus fished on spreader bar rigging. Chinook and coho move through on trolling passes with anchovy, herring, spoons, and hootchies, with jigging a useful alternative when fish hold tight to the structure.
