About Favada Point Hump

Favada Point Hump is an outer-exposed rock pinnacle in DFO subarea 14-13 off Comox, British Columbia, rising through depths of 60 to 235 feet. The rocky structure holds Lingcod, which peak from January through March and again from May through September, alongside resident rockfish including Rougheye, Darkblotched, and Canary, plus Pacific Cod and Sablefish. Jigging metal jigs, swimbaits, or leadhead jigs works the pinnacle for Lingcod, with whole herring, live greenling, or squid on bait as a supporting approach. Chinook Salmon move through from June to August and respond to trolled anchovy, herring, spoons, or hootchies, with mooching cut-plug or whole herring and jigging as alternatives. The steep relief and exposed setting concentrate fish along the pinnacle's edges through the deeper water column.
