Georgeson Island Hump is a rocky pinnacle in the Gulf Islands of British Columbia, rising through mid-exposure water with depths running 170 to 480 feet. The structure holds resident bottomfish year-round, including Copper Rockfish, Canary Rockfish, China Rockfish, and Lingcod, the latter peaking February through April. Pacific Halibut work the deeper edges from March through August, while Chinook Salmon move through May to August and Coho follow June into October. Jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, or leadhead jigs takes Lingcod and rockfish over the rock, and drift jigging with metal jigs or herring covers the halibut along the deeper contours. Salmon respond to trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, or hootchies through the water column above the pinnacle.
