Moos Islet sits off Kyuquot on British Columbia's outer coast, an exposed rock drop-off where the bottom falls away from roughly 330 to 1310 feet. The steep structure holds Chinook Salmon through their May–August peak and Coho Salmon from June into September, with trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, and hootchies working the salmon along the edge. Lingcod stack on the rock in two windows, March–May and June–August, and respond to metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs dropped to the structure. Black Rockfish hold through the long March–September stretch and take the same jigs or soft plastic swimbaits, while Pacific Halibut move through from March into August and come to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and metal jigs over the deeper bottom. The exposed outer position and sharp depth change concentrate fish along the drop, making structure-focused presentations the productive approach here.
