Racoon Point is an outer-exposed rocky drop-off off Kyuquot, British Columbia, where the bottom falls away through 260 to 660 feet of water. Chinook Salmon run through the area from May to August and Coho Salmon from June to September, while Pacific Halibut peak March through August across the deeper flats. The rock structure also holds Lingcod, best worked March through May and June through August, along with Black Rockfish that stay active March into September. Anglers troll anchovy, herring, and spoons for salmon over the drop-off, then switch to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and metal jigs for halibut in the deeper water. Lingcod and Black Rockfish come on metal jigs and swimbaits fished tight to the rock.
