Entrance Island Hump is an exposed rock pinnacle in DFO subarea 17-11 off Nanaimo, British Columbia, rising through depths that run from roughly 45 to 370 feet. The structure holds Chinook and Coho Salmon through their summer peak from June to September, while Lingcod concentrate here in spring and again from May through August. Anglers work the salmon by trolling anchovy, herring, or flashers with hoochies across the pinnacle, with mooching cut-plug herring a productive alternative on the tide. Lingcod respond to metal jigs and swimbaits dropped tight to the rock, and drift jigging with leadhead jigs and soft plastics takes Pacific Halibut over the deeper flanks. The outer-exposed position and rock bottom also bring Canary and Copper Rockfish, Pacific Cod, and Sablefish into the mix across the depth range.
