Entrance Rocks is an outer-exposed rock pinnacle off Nanaimo, British Columbia, sitting in DFO subarea 17-19 with depths that run from 40 to 120 feet. The structure holds lingcod, which peak from March through April and again from May into August, alongside black rockfish that stay active February through September and a mix of canary and copper rockfish. Anglers work the rocky bottom by jigging metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs for lingcod and rockfish, while bait fishing with whole herring, live greenling, or squid produces on the same terrain. Chinook and coho salmon move through from June to September and respond to trolling anchovy, herring, flashers with hoochies, and trolling spoons across the exposed water. The pinnacle's vertical relief concentrates fish along its edges, making drift jigging effective when covering the deeper 120-foot margins.
