Dorcas Point is a mid-exposure bay near Nanaimo, British Columbia, with a mixed bottom and fishable water ranging from 10 to 80 feet. The spot holds Chinook Salmon and Coho Salmon, both peaking from June through September. Trolling dominates here, working anchovy, herring, flashers with hoochies, and trolling spoons across the varied bottom and along the depth transitions. Chinook also respond to mooching with cut-plug or whole herring, while Coho take bucktail flies worked near the surface, and metal jigs produce for both species over the mixed structure. The range of depths lets anglers cover shallow edges and deeper holding water within the same bay.
