Dorcas Rock Hump is a rocky pinnacle rising off the outer, exposed waters near Qualicum Beach, British Columbia, with depths running from about 40 to 120 feet. The structure holds a mix of resident and migratory species, including Canary, Rougheye, and Quillback Rockfish alongside Lingcod, which peaks from January through March. Chinook Salmon move through from July to September and Coho from June to October, while Pacific Halibut fishing peaks March through August over the surrounding bottom. Anglers target Chinook by trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, or hootchies, and work Lingcod along the rock with metal jigs, swimbaits, or leadhead jigs. Halibut hold to drift fishing with whole herring, salmon bellies, octopus, or large jigs across the deeper edges of the pinnacle.
