Hudson Rocks is an exposed rock pinnacle off Nanaimo, British Columbia, rising through outer waters that run from 30 to 120 feet deep. The structure draws Chinook and Coho Salmon, both of which peak from June through September. Trolling dominates here, with anchovy, herring, trolling spoons, and flashers rigged with hoochies worked along the pinnacle's edges and depth changes. Anglers targeting Chinook also mooch cut-plug or whole herring, while jigging metal jigs works the rock for both species. The steep relief and outer-exposed position concentrate fish against the pinnacle as tides move bait across the structure.
