Neck Point is a mixed-bottom bay near Nanaimo, British Columbia, sitting at a mid-exposure position where depths range from 10 to 60 feet. The spot targets Chinook and Coho Salmon, both of which peak from June through September. Trolling drives most of the action here, with anchovy, herring, flashers with hoochies, and trolling spoons worked across the varied bottom for Chinook, and trolling spoons, hootchies, and cut-plug herring for Coho. Anglers also mooch cut-plug or whole herring for Chinook over the mixed structure, or jig metal jigs through the deeper water for both species. The shallow-to-moderate depth range keeps fish within reach of controlled trolling passes along the bay's edges.
