Hump 1.0 km SE of Prosser Rock is a rocky pinnacle in the outer exposed waters off Port Hardy, British Columbia, rising through a depth range of roughly 10 to 250 feet. The structure holds Lingcod, which peak from May through August, alongside Pacific Halibut that fish best from March through August and a resident mix of Canary Rockfish, Copper Rockfish, and Pacific Cod. Chinook Salmon run strongest from May through August and Coho Salmon from June through September, moving through the same exposed water above the rock. Anglers work the pinnacle with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs with soft plastics for Lingcod, while Pacific Halibut come to drift fishing over the deeper edges with whole herring, salmon bellies, octopus, or squid. Salmon respond to trolling with anchovy, herring, spoons, and hootchies across the top of the structure, where tide movement over the pinnacle concentrates fish.
