Prosser Rock is an exposed pinnacle off Port Hardy, British Columbia, where rocky structure rises through a water column that runs 10 to 250 feet. The rock holds a strong lingcod population that peaks from May through August, alongside Quillback, Canary, and Copper rockfish that relate tightly to the pinnacle's hard bottom. Anglers work jigs—metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs with soft plastics—over the structure for lingcod, and drop the same gear or drift whole herring, salmon bellies, octopus, and squid for Pacific halibut, which peaks March through August. Chinook salmon move through from May to August and Coho build from June into September, both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, hootchies, and flashers across the exposed edges. The outer setting and the deep drop off the pinnacle make this a spot where fish are targeted across a wide range of depths depending on the season and the species in play.
