Fire Shoal is an exposed rocky pinnacle off Port McNeill, British Columbia, rising through 60 to 180 feet of outer coastal water. The structure holds Lingcod, which peak from February through March, again in June and July, and once more from August into September, alongside Copper Rockfish that concentrate from June to September. Pacific Halibut and Chinook Salmon both run strong from May through August, with Coho Salmon extending the salmon window into September. Anglers work the pinnacle's rock with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs for Lingcod and Copper Rockfish, while drift jigging with leadhead jigs and metal jigs covers the deeper edges for Halibut. Trolling whole herring, anchovy, and flashers with hootchies takes Chinook and Coho through the surrounding water column over the summer months.
