Hump 0.9 km S of Sedge Islands is an outer-exposed rock pinnacle near Port McNeill, British Columbia, rising through water that runs from 70 to 240 feet. The structure holds lingcod, which peak in February through March, June through July, and again in August through September, alongside Pacific halibut from May through August. Chinook salmon and coho move through the same window, with Chinook peaking May through August and coho May through September, while canary, darkblotched, and rougheye rockfish hold to the rock. Anglers work lingcod with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs over the pinnacle, or drop whole herring and squid on the rock, while halibut take drift-jigged leadhead jigs with plastic swimbaits and metal jigs along the deeper margins. Salmon come to trolled herring, spoons, and flashers with hootchies worked across the structure.
