The Numas Bank Hump is an outer-exposed rock pinnacle off Port McNeill, rising through depths that run from roughly 20 to 200 feet. The structure holds Lingcod, which peak from February through March, again in June and July, and once more in August and September, alongside Pacific Halibut that concentrate from May through August. Chinook Salmon move through the same window, May through August, making the spot a multi-species destination across the warmer months. Anglers working the rock jig metal jigs, swimbaits, or leadhead jigs for Lingcod and drift jig leadhead jigs with plastic swimbaits, metal jigs, or salmon belly along the bottom for Halibut, while Chinook respond to trolling with whole herring, anchovy, or flashers with hootchies over the pinnacle. Rockfish species including Darkblotched, Rougheye, and Yellowmouth, along with Sablefish, hold on the deeper rock among the primary targets.
