STRUCTURE
Pinnacle
Outer Exposed

Punt Rock is an outer-exposed pinnacle off Port McNeill, British Columbia, where rock structure climbs through a broad depth range of 5 to 180 feet. The rocky terrain holds resident Lingcod, which peak from February through March, again in June and July, and once more in August and September, alongside Canary, Quillback, and Copper Rockfish that fish well from June into September. Pacific Halibut move through from May to August, while Chinook and Coho Salmon run the surrounding water from May onward. Anglers work the pinnacle for Lingcod by jigging metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs over the rock, or drop whole herring and squid on the bait. Halibut come to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and swimbaits along the deeper edges, and salmon respond to trolling whole herring, spoons, and flashers with hootchies through the upper water.
