STRUCTURE
Pinnacle
Outer Exposed

The Hump 0.5 km east of Vansittart Point is a rocky pinnacle in the outer, exposed waters off Sayward, British Columbia, rising through a depth range of roughly 25 to 535 feet. The structure holds Pacific Halibut, which peak from April through August, alongside Lingcod that come on strong in February through April and again in late summer, plus Pacific Cod, Canary Rockfish, and Copper Rockfish across the rock bottom. Chinook Salmon move through from May to August and Coho from June into October, with trolling anchovy, herring, hootchies, and spoons working the water column above the pinnacle. Anglers targeting halibut drift jig leadhead and metal jigs over the deeper flanks, while lingcod respond to jigging swimbaits and metal jigs worked tight to the rock. The exposed setting and steep vertical relief concentrate fish near the summit and along the drop-offs, where current sweeps bait across the structure.
