Hump 1.3 km E of Peterson Islet is a rocky pinnacle rising from the seabed off Sayward, British Columbia, sitting in mid-exposure water that runs from 330 to 1310 feet deep. The structure holds Pacific Halibut, which peak from April through August, alongside Lingcod that turn on from February through April and again in August and September, plus a mix of Rougheye Rockfish, Shortraker Rockfish, and Pacific Cod. Chinook Salmon move through from May to August and Coho Salmon from June to October, giving the spot a long window of activity across the season. Anglers work the deep rock with drift jigging using leadhead or metal jigs for halibut, and drop metal jigs and swimbaits along the pinnacle for lingcod, while bottom bait fishing with herring or squid covers the same structure. For salmon, trolling anchovy, herring, or spoons over the hump takes both Chinook and Coho as they pass through the mid-depth water.
