Scottys Point is an outer-exposed rock drop-off near Sayward, British Columbia, where the bottom falls from roughly 260 to 660 feet. Chinook Salmon move through from May to August and Coho Salmon hold from June to October, both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, hootchies, and spoons over the ledge. The rocky structure supports Lingcod, which peak February through April and again in late summer, along with Black Rockfish from June to September; jigging metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and soft plastic swimbaits works both species close to the rock. Pacific Halibut show from April to August and respond to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and soft plastic swimbaits across the deeper sections of the drop. The steep contour concentrates fish along the break, making depth control the key to fishing this spot.
