Shaw Point sits off Sayward, British Columbia, where an outer-exposed rock drop-off falls through depths of 260 to 660 feet. The structure holds a strong salmon run, with Chinook peaking May through August and Coho following from June into October, both worked most consistently by trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, or hootchies along the edge. Pacific Halibut move onto the deeper rock from April through August, taken by drift jigging leadhead or metal jigs and soft plastic swimbaits over the bottom. Lingcod stack up on the same rocky relief with peaks in late winter and again in late summer, responding to metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs dropped tight to the structure. Pacific Cod, aggregate rockfish, sablefish, and Pacific herring round out the mix across the drop-off's depth range.
