Gunner Point is an outer-exposed rock drop-off off Sayward, British Columbia, where the bottom falls from 260 to 660 feet. The steep structure holds Chinook Salmon through their May to August peak and Coho Salmon from June into October, with both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, and hootchies over the edge. Pacific Halibut work the deeper rock from April to August and respond to drift jigging with leadhead jigs, metal jigs, and soft plastic swimbaits. Lingcod concentrate on the rock through their February to April window and again in late summer, while Black Rockfish stack over the same structure from June to September, both reached with metal jigs and leadhead jigs. Canary Rockfish and Pacific Cod round out the bottom species along the drop.
