STRUCTURE
Drop Off
Outer Exposed

Fanny Island sits off Sayward, British Columbia, marking an exposed outer rock drop-off where depths fall from 330 to 1,310 feet. The structure concentrates Chinook Salmon from May through August and Coho Salmon from June into October, with anglers working trolling spoons, hootchies, and anchovy across the edge and mooching cut-plug herring along the current lines. Pacific Halibut hold on the bottom from April through August, taken by drift jigging leadhead jigs and metal jigs or bottom bait fishing with squid and salmon bellies. Lingcod feed over the rock and peak from February through April and again in late summer, responding to metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs worked close to the structure. Pacific Cod, Canary Rockfish, and Pacific Ocean Perch round out the catch across the deeper contours.
