Termagant Point Hump

The hump 1.6 km southeast of Poyntz Island rises as a rocky pinnacle off Sayward, British Columbia, with a mid-exposure profile and depths ranging from 30 to 545 feet. Chinook Salmon hold here through the May–August peak and Coho Salmon push in from June into October, both worked by trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, and hootchies over the structure. Lingcod concentrate on the rock in the February–April window and again in late summer, taken by jigging metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs along the pinnacle. Pacific Halibut settle over the deeper flats around the base from April through August, where drift jigging leadhead jigs and soft plastic swimbaits reaches fish holding at depth. Canary Rockfish, Pacific Cod, and Rougheye Rockfish round out the mix across the varied rock and depth gradient.
