Satellite Channel runs along the east side of the Saanich Peninsula near Sidney, British Columbia, within DFO subarea 18-6. The spot is defined by a drop-off over mixed bottom, sitting in a mid-exposure position where the seabed falls away from around 40 feet to 180 feet. The transition along this edge concentrates structure that holds fish through the water column, and the channel's tidal flow moves water steadily across the slope. Anglers work the full depth range here, reading the contour where the shallower shelf breaks into deeper water. The combination of drop-off relief and moving current makes this a productive stretch of the peninsula's eastern shoreline.
